Not happy

Saw that two of my Facebook friends ran in the race I was supposed to run today. My ankle is still bothering me - more-so today (after a day of lots of walking and standing). I called and left my doctor a message asking for the name of a good sports medicine doctor.

Grr...

Been a while

So I finally had a chance to run today, however briefly. It probably wasn't the ideal situation to test out my new shoes what with my untested ankle and all... So it goes. I ran for less than a mile.

I was definitely a bit achy afterward, and my left foot was not pleased with what I assume is an increase in arch support - but other than that the shoes felt okay. In theory I am supposed to run in a 4M race on Sunday. I am going to try and get a few miles in on Friday and see how my ankle feels afterward.

Poland Springs Marathon Kickoff kicked my ass

Ugh... That's what I get for trying to run the most I have ever run (5M) after not run for about two weeks... I tweaked my ankle and my knee (different legs). I have been limping around all of yesterday and today. Gah! I had to walk a little bit at the end of each mile and then most of the last one (which is when my knee started acting up).

I am really hoping that I am all healed up for Saturday's 2.5M run. So damn frustrating!

Gear acquired

During my brief sojourn outside the confines of my apartment cum quarantine area I popped over to a local sporting goods store and picked up light gloves and a light headband for Sunday. I figure I might as well plan to run the race and see what happens. I am hopeful that I will feel up to the task.

Nervous about Sunday

I had to stay home from work Thursday, and am going to need to do the same Friday. I have a race on Sunday which will be the longest distance I have ever run (5M) and it looks like I may have to do it cold - ie without having run for like a week and half.

In addition to this is the difficulty in that I need to pick up some more gear for the run - its going to be chilly and I have no headband nor gloves suitable for running in.

Grr.
